Wesser Launch Check-In and Chat Sessions

Events

After almost a year of lockdowns and uncertainty about when life will get back to “normal” it has become more important than ever that we find fun, interesting and new ways to support the mental health of our employees.

At Wesser we have always been very good at communicating with our people (we are a face to face and telephone fundraising agency that relies on good communication after all), however, when our offices are closed it’s not easy to create an “office like” environment where colleagues are nearby for a quick chat.

Although to most, a quick chat might simply involve talking about the weather or weekend plans, we believe it is an important component of life in the Wesser family. A quick chat could be an opportunity to talk about how we feel, what we have achieved or what we are finding challenging both in and out of the workplace (remember the phrase a problem shared is a problem halved). With this in mind we have launched weekly virtual check-in and chat sessions.

Our check-in and chat session are being run weekly using Zoom and feature no agenda, no pre agreed topics, no notes and no rules (within reason). All we want to do is to give our employees a place to chat informally while having the support of the Human Resources team if they have any questions or queries.

Commenting on the new check-in and chat sessions Jade Mole (Human Resources Manager) said:

We are so excited to introduce our new check in chat sessions that started on Tuesday 2nd February. This is a fantastic opportunity to meet with all employees, both working virtually and those who are furloughed, for a 30 minute catch up. We have no set agenda and can literally chat about anything. We hope that this will help contribute to our internal company communications and enhance our continued efforts to support positive mental health and employee wellbeing within our workforce.
