The leadership seminars are always a great opportunity for Wesser employees from all over the country to come and meet with each other, learn new things and share ideas about getting the most out of our people.
The day began with a series of three mini talks focusing on the qualities that an effective leader should show, how to handle negativity within a team, and how to focus on getting high quality supporters by focusing on QPI’s. The talks were a chance for people to share their thoughts and ideas on these common issues and come up with some creative solutions – it’s always great to hear other perspectives on topics such as these.
We then had a very well delivered interactive CPR workshop given by a St John Ambulance volunteer. This was massively appreciated by everyone there as it really helps to contextualise why the work that we do is so important and gave everyone a chance to learn a new skill. This was followed by a talk from our charity partners at SJA, with a focus on why long-term supporters are so important to the charity and where the funds raised go. Again, this really helps to put things into perspective and inspire you to want to get more quality supporters.
In the evening we had a lovely awards meal which recognises the efforts of some of the best people in the company (as well the kitchen staff, the food was great!). Wesser is great at acknowledging the value of individuals and teams, and the awards ceremony is a reflection of that. The night then finished with some hilarious if not less-than-perfect karaoke.
With new connections being made, some brilliant ideas shared, and everyone excited about the year ahead, the event was a huge success! Bring on the next seminar.
